Ecumenical Retreat House
On behalf of the Ecumenical Missionaries we all want to thank john and Tony Kovak, for their kindness and generosity in allowing all of us to be their guess in their lake house for the winter months.
Thank you for allowing us to share our spirituality and faith. We want to let you know you will be remembered in the altar of the Lord and all our monastic prayers.
Fr. Luigi Hargain E.M. says that a retreat is where the person seeks God. It is where God seeks the person. A retreat is a meeting place…
According to Holy Scriptures in the book of Hosea God invites us to come to the desert to pray and he will speak to our hearts. Retreat allows us to break our ordinary pattern of life!
1.Why a spiritual retreat?
The Webster’s dictionary defines retreat as ,seclusion,
a place away from the pressures of ordinary life.
The word spiritual is define in the
dictionary as “ The higher intellectual or endowments of the mind,
Intellect, consciousness or the moral
feelings or state of the soul.
The spiritual retreat is to rediscover the divinity that exists in the center of
our lives, to find ,taste, see ,and feel the very presence of the Almighty
within ourselves.
2.Why Silence?
Silence renews us.
Silence opens our communication with God.
Silence lets us feel the beauty of our purpose in the very presence of God. In silence one cannot hide from one’s problems, or from God.
3.How does a retreat help me in every day life?
A retreat is not a substitute for daily life. It should be a booster an accelerator of the spiritual journey.
A retreat provides focused an opportunity to learn and strengthen practices which will lead us to a shift in perception. Changing our relationship with life and the world around us.
4.What can I expect of a retreat?
A retreat will provide you the environment to rest your body, mind and soul. A retreat is an invitation from God to "come to me all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest".
It is the prayers of the Ecumenical Missionaries that you enjoy the beginning or continuation of your spiritual journey. Please know that you are remember in our daily prayers, meditations, and the sacrifice of the Holy Mass.
